About Us
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is an international learned society for computing. It was founded in 1947 and is the world’s largest scientific and educational computing society. It is a not-for-profit professional membership group. Its membership is more than 100,000 as of 2011. It's headquarters are in New York City. The ACM is an umbrella organization for academic and scholarly interests in computer science. Its motto is “Advancing Computing as a Science & Profession”.
Our Mission
To provide an immersive student experience, with a curriculum which is connected to the industry in real-time, based on a learning by doing ethos. Our core objective is to build confidence and self-awareness, providing students with the skills necessary to recognise and take opportunities.
Our Plan
The Plan of code includes principles formulated as statements of responsibility, based on the understanding that the public good is always the primary consideration, each of which is supplemented by guidelines, which provide explanations to assist computing professionals in understanding and applying the principle.
Our Vision
ACM will boost up the potential and talent, supporting the overall development needs of our students to facilitate a structured path from education to employment by providing a safe and supported space where creative talent and imagination can flourish in a caring environment.
Activities
Learn and Teach
Various seminars are held for students to learn, these seminars promote intuitive thinking among students.
Hackathon
Various hackathons are organized which provides students a platform to not only learn but practice. Organizing and managing them gives the student a good opportunity to improve.
Coding
An environment to code at our college. Everyone utilizes the time they have to produce what they can with no boundaries.
Competitions
Various competitions organized by the chapter have the highest number of participants and give the students learn and compete.
Global Collaborations
Promoting outreach and sponsorships in the computer science industries and professional link-ups.
Projects
The Chapter's backbone, the Technical Team not only designs the websites and apps for the Chapter, but also propogates the culture of coding and works on projects that help students learn while solving real life problems.
